Jon Snow lives! Or at least his haircut does on “Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington. The 28-year-old’s character was killed off the HBO series during the Season 5 finale. However, Harington was recently photographed with his famous long dark hair still intact.

The English actor was spotted at day four of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday, July 2. Harington was with a group of friends, including English and Liverpool football player Adam Lallana. The group was watching the court to see US player Christina McHale play against Germany’s Sabine Lisicki during the second round of women’s singles … but in reality all eyes were on Harington’s hairdo.

So, why the focus on one man’s hair? It might be a clue as to whether or not the actor will return to “Game of Thrones” for Season 6.

For those that missed the finale, Jon Snow managed to survive the White Walkers and bring the Wildlings safely through Castle Black. However, his men in the Night’s Watch had turned against him. The men staged a mutiny and lured Jon Snow out in the open … only to stab him repeatedly in the middle of the courtyard. “For the Watch,” the men said as their daggers entered his chest.

The Season 5 finale of the HBO series concluded with Olly (Brenock O’Connor) stabbing Jon for the final time. He fell to the floor – eyes open – as his blood spread into the snow around him.

It seemed like Jon Snow was dead, and Kit Harington even confirmed his character’s fate to Entertainment Weekly. “I’m dead,” he told the outlet. “I’m not coming back next season.” So, why the doubt? He’s a definite fan favorite, and viewers aren’t ready to see him go.

One rumor circulating is that Jon Snow’s eyes changed in the final seconds of the finale when he was lying on the ground. That theory has fans speculating that he’ll return to Season 6 as a White Walker. Others believe that Melisandre (Carice van Houten) will use the Lord of Light’s powers to revive Jon Snow.

Whatever the case may be, everyone seems to be in agreement that Jon Snow will return … if Kit Harington doesn’t get a haircut. The thinking behind the whole “haircut theory” is that if Jon Snow were really dead, then Harington would have no issues cutting his long locks. He previously admitted that he wasn’t committed to his hair style, telling Rolling Stone last May that a different role on-screen meant that, “maybe I can cut my f---ing hair.”

Filming for Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” is rumored to begin filming later this month. The show will be returning to locations in Ireland (home of fictional Castle Black) and Spain (the fictional location of Dorne) for the upcoming installment.
