Jon Snow
Jon Snow is supposedly dead. So, "Game of Thrones" fans want actor Kit Harington to prove it with a haircut. HBO

The “Game of Thrones” fan base is not interested in being toyed with. Although the HBO showrunners are claiming that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) died during the Season 5 finale, some loyal viewers are not so sure – and they don’t want to wait a year to find out if he’s coming back to life.

So, what’s a loyal fan to do? Start a petition, of course! CNet notes that one superfan decided to create a petition to encourage “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington to cut his hair. The thought process? If Jon Snow is truly dead, then Harington will have no problem shearing his luscious dark locks.

The petition was started on Change.org on Wednesday by a fan named Matt Feldman. With so many theories and rumors about Season 6 running wild, Feldman asks that Harington “cut those locks down-a-size so we can finally begin to move on with our lives.”

For those that have been living under a rock, the “Game of Thrones” finale aired on June 14 and killed Jon Snow in the final moments of the episode. The Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch was betrayed by his men at Castle Black. Led by Alliser Thorne (Owen Teale), Jon Snow’s “brothers” took turns stabbing him. The last blade to puncture Jon was that of Olly (Brenock O’Connor), a young boy who Jon took into the Night’s Watch after his family was killed by Wildlings.

The episode, titled “Mother’s Mercy,” ended with the cameras on Jon Snow as he lay on the ground. His eyes were wide open as blood from his wounds pooled around him.

“I can say emphatically that Jon Snow is definitely dead,” finale director David Nutter told Variety after the episode aired. When questioned about Melisandre’s (Carice van Houten) ability to use the Lord of Light to bring Jon Snow back from the dead, Nutter said “that’s not my concern.”

“My concern was to take care of Jon Snow, and he’s now deader than dead,” he explained.

Kit Harington shared similar remarks. “I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season.”

So, if he really is dead, then he would have no problem cutting his hair … right? Last May he told Rolling Stone that he’s looking forward to playing different roles and chopping his locks.

“I told my agent, ‘No more swords, no more horses,’” Harington said during his interview with the magazine. “You [don’t want to] get stuck in things. And maybe I can cut my f---ing hair.”
