Prepare to feel relationship jealousy now that two of the heaviest hitters in modern comedy have announced their engagement. “Key & Peele” star Jordan Peele took to Twitter over Thanksgiving weekend to, through the use of only one emoji, announce that he’s engaged to longtime girlfriend, and star of Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” Chelsea Peretti.

According to Us Weekly, the couple had been dating for roughly two years before he posted a tweet on Nov. 28 that simply tagged Peretti with a diamond ring emoji. Fortunately for him, she appears to have said yes, as she later tweeted a message of her own that explained the romantic funnyman popped the question during her family’s Thanksgiving talent show.

As the Huffington Post points out, many of the couple’s celebrity friends quickly took to Twitter to congratulate Peretti and Peele on the joyous news. Among the A-listers wishing them a happy marriage were Mindy Kaling, T-Pain, Seth Green and Henry Winkler. Even the official “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Twitter account took time to celebrate the couple’s announcement, which the star who plays Gina Linetti on the comedy decided to have a little fun with.

According to Entertainment Weekly, it makes perfect sense that the couple decided to share their recent engagement with the world through the use of Twitter. The 37-year-old comedy actress previously told the outlet that she and her 36-year-old fiancé first met thanks to Twitter. Peretti is an avid social media presence and she says that Peele once reached out to her through the site in a very polite way to compliment her on a Web series she once did. From there, the rest is history.

It’s been a big year for both of the comedians. Afer Peretti released her Netflix standup special “One of the Greats” in 2014, she had a significantly expanded role in Season 3 of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” Meanwhile, all eyes are on Jordan Peele now that he and his comedy partner Keegan-Michael Key ended their hit Comedy Central series “Key & Peele” in September.
