Many fans watched as Kanye West seemingly unraveled on the signature floating stage he had built for the “Saint Pablo” tour, but it seems his issues may have stemmed from behind the scenes drama.

According to Us Weekly, the “Famous” rapper was struggling to maintain his relationship with wife Kim Kardashian in the weeks leading up to his involuntary hospitalization. The pair are said to have begun growing apart after the mother of two declined to attend a number of stops on her husband’s now-canceled tour. Sources say that her decision — which was rooted in safety fears following a Oct. 3 robbery in Paris — drove a wedge between the two and was a contributing factor in his alleged breakdown.

At home, Kanye is said to have begun pulling all-nighters and constantly going on lengthy rants about various unspecified topics. “He would be up all night ranting about things,” a source told the publication. “They were fighting because he was impossible to live with.”

While Kim and Kanye, 39, are thought to be having their own issues, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star has decided to keep the children out of it. According to People, neither North nor Saint West have visited Kanye at UCLA Medical Center since he was admitted. Kim has been close by his side throughout the majority of this ordeal, but she reportedly believes it’s for the best that her kids have some distance from their father during his battle to overcome mental health issues.

“She is very worried about the kids being around Kanye,” one source told People.

On Monday it was reported that doctors were considering releasing Kanye to the care of his personal doctor. After further evaluation, however, TMZ reported that the UCLA Medical Center staff decided it was for the best if Kanye remain in their care. No release date has been given for the 21-time Grammy award winner.

Kanye was hospitalized on Nov. 22. In the days leading up to his admittance into the health care facility, the controversial rapper made headlines for strange behavior during concerts. During one particular in-concert rant he praised President-elect Donald J. Trump, admitting that he would have voted for him had he voted at all. On Nov. 21, without warning, he canceled the remaining dates on the “Saint Pablo” tour. During his final performance, Kanye took the stage for only a few moments — ranting and walking off stage without rapping so much as one verse. Sources told Entertainment Tonight that Kanye’s behavior was a result of “stress, anxiety, paranoia” all rolled into one.

Despite conflicting reports, filming for “KUWTK” has not been halted because of Kanye’s health issues.
