After reports Monday that Houston Rockets player James Harden broke up with Khloé Kardashian, Hollywood Life reported that Harden may be blaming the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star for his bad performance in the NBA. Fans say that there's a “Kardashian Curse” that affects the lives of people related to the Kardashian family.

"James is really devoted to getting his game back and reversing his team’s slow start," a source told Hollywood Life. "He was an MVP (Most Valuable Player) candidate last year and he is not even close to that right now."

"He is starting to believe in the Kardashian curse," the source added. According to the curse, athletes who date the Kardashians end up being worse than before.

The latest report follows Khloé’s comments defending herself against such allegations. "Someone's trying to give me too much power," she said in a video on her website earlier this month.

Khloé’s estranged husband and former Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom is currently admitted in a Los Angeles hospital due to a drug overdose. According to a report, the complicated situation between Odom and Khloé was one of the reasons for her breakup with Harden. The report also cited the craziness of the Kardashian family for the rumored breakup.

"If Lamar’s incident didn’t happen and the Houston Rockets were playing better than things would be different," a source said, according to Hollywood Life. "But the BS that the Kardashians bring to everything has really thrown him for a loop!"

An insider reportedly said Monday: "The media scrutiny, her family’s meddling and her mood swings drove him over the edge. He told her they can still hook up, but anything serious is off the table. It was too much for him."

A report by Hollywood Life said that Harden wanted to break up for a long time. "James has enough on his place right now and Khloe on top of it is too much for him," a source reportedly said, adding: "His team is playing poorly, and to add insult to injury, Khloe’s out kicking with [ex], French Montana."
