Kat Von D will be out of a job when this season's LA Ink wraps. TLC announced on Thursday that it has pulled the plug on the reality show.

The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D's journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles, TLC said in a statement to People magazine.

Since premiering on TLC in August 2007, LA Ink has remained one of the most popular shows on the network, along the likes of Cake Boss, Little People, Big World and Jon & Kate Plus 8.

The cancellation of LA Ink comes just over three weeks after Von D announced her split from fellow reality TV star Jesse James. Von D and James, who was previously married to actress Sandra Bullock, were set to tie the knot this summer. The couple cited distance as a major factor for their break-up (Von D lives in L.A. while James spends most of his time in Texas). The cancellation may be a bitter pill to swallow for Von D, as James makes several appearances on the current season of LA Ink (see video below).

TLC seems to be heading to new directions after cancelling two of its most popular shows. On Monday, the network confirmed that it would not renew another season of Kate Plus 8 (formerly Jon & Kate Plus 8).

The series finale of LA Ink will air on Sept. 15.
