The drama in Kate Gosselin’s brood isn’t slowing down her TLC series. The TV personality has announced “Kate Plus 8” is returning for a new season with episode 1 premiering in January 2017.

The mother of eight confirmed the return of her hit docuseries in the comments section of an Instagram post about her son Aaden (posted below), according to Radar Online. The premiere of the series’ new episodes comes amid a turbulent time for the Gosselin gang. In August, Kate revealed one of her 12-year-old sextuplets, son Collin, was receiving treatment for an unnamed issue away from her Pennsylvania home in order to become “the best him he can be.”

“Collin has special needs. [There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things,” Kate told People, calling it a longtime struggle. “It’s not something that has only impacted me or him, our entire family has been impacted.”

“We miss him so much, so it’s been hard because there is a huge hole in our family without him here,” Kate added, saying her family is comforted knowing he is “where he needs to be right now.” While it has been rumored that Collin is suffering from “anger issues,” those reports have yet to be confirmed.

Not only is the family battling Collin’s special needs, Kate’s kids have also been having issues with their father, Jon Gosselin. After Jon shared in August that he rarely sees or speaks to his 15-year-old twins Mady and Cara, Mady slammed her dad publicly.

“He makes it seem like we’re being kept from him, which is insane,” the teen told People of Jon’s custody claims. “He should maybe spend some time thinking about why we don’t want to see him,” she said, adding, “He doesn’t even know us… How can he dare to talk about us?”

Jon responded to his daughter’s statement by calling it “shocking” and admitting he was “hurt” by it.
