Kate Hudson is best known for her acting roles in several rom-com flicks in the 2000s, but unbeknownst to many, the actress is also an amazing singer.

A video of Hudson singing at a birthday party for David Foster surfaced on the internet a week ago, and when she found out that it actually went viral, the Los Angeles native couldn’t believe it. “Oh my god! Sara [Foster] was so funny,” Hudson told Entertainment Tonight at the fifth annual Baby2Baby Gala on Saturday night, when asked about the story behind the clip in which she’s seen showing off her singing chops as John Mayer plays his guitar as accompaniment.

“Sara [David’s daughter] who posted it … she was like ‘It went viral,’” Hudson recalled at 3LABS in Culver City, California. “I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ I don't pay attention to anything. I’ve been so immersed in things that are important.”

Given the positive reaction of people who have seen the video, the interviewer asked the 37-year-old actress: “So no album coming up soon?” Hudson took a long pause before answering, “Not that I could say, but I’m always writing.”

Although Hudson has yet to release an album of her own, the Oscar-nominated actress had actually recorded four cover songs for “Glee” when she joined the cast of the FOX musical series as Cassandra July back in 2012. The songs she performed during her five-episode stint on the show were “Uptight (Everything's Alright),” “All That Jazz,” “There are Worse Things I Could Do” and a mash-up of “Americano” and “Dance Again.”

Hudson was last seen on the big screen as Mark Wahlberg’s wife in this year’s biopic disaster film “Deepwater Horizon.” She will next star in the biographical thriller film “Marshall,” alongside Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad and Dan Stevens, among many others.
