American actress, entrepreneur, and singer-songwriter Katy Perry -- appropriately attired for the occasion in a red, white, and blue starred-and-striped outfit -- had an appreciative audience as the featured performer at the Kids' Inaugural: Our Children, Our Future concert at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington Saturday night.

The Kids’ Inaugural concert is one of several events organized by the Presidential Inaugural Committee 2013 in connection with the country's 57th presidential inauguration this weekend. Others include the National Day of Service on Saturday; the Inaugural Parade, Commander In Chief’s Ball, and Inaugural Ball on Monday; and the National Prayer Service on Tuesday.

Among the appreciative Kids' Inaugural audience members were the event's host, U.S. first lady Michelle Obama, and daughters, Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, who had front-row seats. Others included a host of American military families either at the show or at one of the military bases across the country to which video was live streamed.
