Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces has announced opening of its 5-star spa resort in Bekal in the Kasargod district of Kerala.

The 25-acre resort, Vivanta by Taj - Bekal, offers signature Vivanta luxury and hospitality.

Nestled in the midst of a rustic environment, it is located on the meandering Kerala backwaters and by the side of the Kappil River, with easy access to the beach. The architectural style of Vivanta by Taj - Bekal is inspired by the Kettuvallam house boats that are unique to this region, the hotel group, one of Asia's finest and largest, said in a statement.

Bekal is a picturesque and delightful destination that is waiting to be discovered, it said.

The newly unveiled beach side spa resort has a Jiva Grande Spa, which spreads over 165,000 sq feet and allows guests to indulge in Ayurveda therapies, Indian aromatherapy, scrubs and wraps, unique to Kerala.

The state-of-the-art of Vivanta Bekal boasts of romantic dining spaces, an island bar with an enchanting water garden moat around it, barbecue by the pool side, and gazebos for intimate private dinners by the Kappil waters.

Currently, there are 24 Vivanta hotels and resorts located across key metropolitan capitals of India and the Indian Ocean region, as well as popular holiday destinations like Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

The latest addition of the luxurious hospitality brand of Taj to the southern Indian state adds to Kerala's distinct Class Tourism and widens chance for attracting tourists to Bekal.
