Britney Spears and Kevin Federline
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married in 2004. Spears gave birth to her first child, Sean Preston Federline, in 2005 and her second child, Jayden James Federline, was born in 2006. A few months after Jayden’s birth, Spears filed for divorce, which was finalized in 2007. The couple agreed to have joint custody of their children, but when Spears checked into a drug rehabilitation center and had a public meltdown, Federline received full custody of the children in October 2007. Spears, however, refused to give up custody of her sons and appeared at Federline’s home in January 2008. She was committed to a psychiatric ward and her father, Jamie, gained control of her finances. She was released a month later. Kevin Federline, the 33-year-old ex-husband of Britney Spears, was rushed to the hospital on Monday after he complained of chest pains while filming a weight loss show in Australia.

Federline was filming Australian television show Excess Baggage when he experienced symptoms of cardiac arrest during a challenge. He was rushed to Mt. Druitt Hospital in West Sydney where he underwent an ECG for a roaring pulse, suffering a minor cardiac arrest.

However, Federline did not suffer a heart attack though he is being monitored in the hospital until at least Monday evening, according to a spokesperson for the network.

Kevin was at Doonside with the Greater Western Sydney Giants, completing an AFL-related challenge, a spokesperson for Nine TV Networks said on Monday. He did this challenge, which was running and catching the ball, then while his in-series weight-loss partner was taking the same challenge, he reported chest pains and a racing heart.

According to the spokesperson, Federline received an oxygen mask on site before being rushed to the hospital via ambulance.

Obviously on this show we have a lot of paramedics on standby and they treated him for the first signs of a minor cardiac arrest, called an ambulance and had him taken to hospital, the spokesperson said.

This is not the first incident Federline suffered a health-related issue since Excess Baggage started filming nine weeks ago. During the first week of filming, Federline collapsed as a result to the heat in The Kimberleys, Western Australia and was treated for heat stress, according to The Sun.

Federline split from ex Britney Spears back in 2006 after two years of marriage. The former couple has two sons together, Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5.

Since the divorce, former back-up dancer Kevin Federline has put on the pounds, weighting in at 105.4kg (232 pounds) when the show began filming.

Excess Baggage will premiere on Monday with 12 celebrities and ordinary Australians competing in a weight loss challenge. A Nine spokesperson said Federline will decide if he will continue on the show once he is released from the hospital.
