“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Kim Kardashian has not issued a statement since she was robbed of at least $11 million at gunpoint in Paris on Monday morning. Her friends, however, took to Twitter to support the reality star and slam naysayers who celebrated the attack.

Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen was one of her first celebrity friends to tweet. “Some s--- just isn't funny. I see you trying, but it isn't,” she wrote Monday, minutes after reports surfaced.

Teigen then began to muse about celebrity. “Fame is interesting. Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you'd make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets,” she said. “It's hard to explain because everyone thinks money and fame is pure awesome, so it just sounds whiny. I get it, trust me. Go off.” She added: “Please do not think that I think celebrities are special snowflakes. I just miss empathy, in general, for everyone.”

Late night host James Corden was more direct in his defense of Kardashian. “People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she's a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend. Be nice or shut up,” he wrote Monday.

Khadijah Haqq McCray, who has been friends with the Kardashian family for years, took to Twitter with a cryptic message that was seemingly aimed at Kardashian’s scare. “I need to learn, yet again, how to disconnect my feelings from the things I can't change, I wanna focus on what's positive only,” she said Monday.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis focused on the star’s safety. “Relieved @KimKardashian was unharmed. Public people deserve private, safe lives,” she tweeted Monday. “A horrific moment 4 her family. Twitterverse silence thee.”

Kardashian, 35, took a private jet to New York City after the attack Monday. She is with husband Kanye West in their Tribeca neighborhood apartment. Her spokesperson broke the news in an official statement Monday.

“Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. She is badly shaken but physically unharmed,” Kardashian's spokesperson Ina Treciokas told CNN.
