Kim Zolciak isn’t opposed to going back to her old roots. Despite the success of her Bravo spinoff series “Don’t Be Tardy,” the 35-year-old reality TV star confirmed recently that she is willing to return to the hit series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” after a hiatus of more than a year.

“Now that I’m done having babies, I can’t say that I wouldn’t go back,” Zolciak told InTouch Weekly earlier this month, adding, “For the most part, I enjoyed my time on the show.” While there is no official world from Bravo if Zolciak will return, she has already received a lukewarm welcome back from her former “RHOA” co-star, and on-again, off-again friend, actress NeNe Leakes.

When prompted Sunday by viewers of Bravo’s late night talk series “Watch What Happens Live” regarding Zolciak’s possible return, Leakes, 46, said she has no qualms about the casting shakeup. "I'm not against Kim returning to 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta,' as long as she’s willing to work,” Leakes said, according to AllAboutTRH.com. Despite her open invitation, Leakes, who also starred on the sitcom “The New Normal” and “Glee,” finished the interview by giving her former co-star a dig, saying, “Reading is fundamental.”

Zolciak, who began on the initial episode in 2008, infamously left the show in the midst of its fifth season in December 2012. “The fighting. The stress. The gossip. The drama. I reached my boiling point,” Zolciak explained in her Bravo TV.com blog.

In 2012, Zolciak’s spinoff series “Don’t Be Tardy” premiered on Bravo. The show featured the wig-loving TV star’s newlywed life with her husband, NFL star Kroy Biermann, 28, and her four children: Brielle, 16; Ariana, 11; K.J., 2; and Kash, 1. The couple, who announced they were expecting their fifth and sixth children in August, welcomed twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren in November.
