Plumped up Kirstie Alley vowed she would shed the pounds during an appearance on Oprah and reclaim her slim bikini figure she strutted on Oprah just two years ago.

Alley, 58, blamed the extra pounds on lack of motivation and told Oprah Winfery she intends to shed 80 pounds by November.

I'm going to be in a bikini again! The actress has regained the 75 lbs. she worked off in 2006, when she appeared on Oprah in a two piece.

The ex-Cheers actress's highly publicized chronic battle against obesity is not an isolated case. About 95 percent of people regain the weight they have lost in less than a year, says psychotherapist Stefanie Barthmare of the Methodist Weight Management Center in Houston, Daily News reported.

People who want to lose weight come in with such fierce determination and commitment in the early stages, but they are more committed to losing weight than to a new lifestyle. The motivation to diet only lasts for a limited period.

Alley, a former Jenny Craig spokeswoman, told the talk show queen that she wanted to, “cut myself some slack,” and admitted it was a big mistake as she gained back all the pounds she so long battled to shed after letting herself fall off the wagon.

Kirstie also said she's also inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama's body. I'm, like, 'Look, Michelle Obama's guns. I could have those arms.' Oprah responds with: You've got to work for that. I think I'm ready to work, Kirstie said.
