An unladylike brawl broke out on Ladies Day at Royal Ascot - but it was the men throwing the punches.

UK's Mail Online reported that a group of eight men were mauling each other with champagne bottles and broken chair legs, causing one man to suffer a two-inch cut on the back of his head.

Two onlookers told the paper that a young, attractive blond ignited the brawl, and that the men involved appeared to be friends - at least earlier in the day.

The altercation took place next to a champagne bar on a patch of glass at the rear of the grandstand.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth Hurley and Queen Elizabeth appeared to be having a perfectly lovely time, with neither throwing fists.
