At Least 3 Dead, 9 Hurt In Tel Aviv Shooting

At least nine people were wounded Wednesday in a shooting incident in central Tel Aviv and one person was in critical condition, with Israeli police describing the shooting as an apparent attack aimed at Israelis.

[CNN reported that at least three people had been killed.]

The incident occurred in an area of trendy cafés and restaurants very close to the central military headquarters and Defense Ministry compound.

The attack was the first after a lull following almost-daily street attacks by Palestinians against Israelis that began in October and lasted several months.
