NBA star LeBron James revealed during a Monday interview in Philadelphia that Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is his favorite NFL player.

James, who is the face of Ohio sports as the star player of the Cleveland Cavaliers and a public supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, confessed his fandom for Wentz while his team was in Philadelphia for Monday night's game against the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center.

"My favorite player right now is Carson Wentz," James told reporters. "I told my brother that early in the season that I just love the way he plays the game. The way he's able to get to progressions throughout the course of a three-step drop or a five-step drop and when everything breaks down he's able to run, he can get outside the pocket, he's able to make passes and get yards with his feet."

The Eagles acquired Wentz through moves made possible by James hometown team the Cleveland Browns, who traded their No. 2 overall pick in the draft to the Eagles in 2016. That pick was used to acquire Wentz, who has 2,657 passing yards, 253 rushing yards, and 28 touchdowns this season, a huge reason why the Eagles have a 10-1 record. Meanwhile, the Browns sit at the bottom of the league with a record of 0-11.

"He's a very smart player from the outside looking in, obviously, and they've got a really good team. I'm a Cowboys fan, I'm a Browns fan, but I'm a fan of sports and I know sports," James added.

James has supported teams and players who are not from Ohio. The Akron native famously wore a New York Yankees baseball cap in support of the team during Game 1 of the 2007 ALDS against the Cleveland Indians.

"I’m a supporter," James told the New York Post October 2016. "I’m a supporter of winners. As a kid growing up, I needed inspiration to get out of the situation I was in. I loved the Bulls, Cowboys and loved the Yankees."
