The most famous hairline in all of sports is looking a lot different these days. LeBron James has shaved his head in perhaps the most notable sports haircut of the summer.

The Miami Heat star was seen with a fresh trim when he recently spoke in the Philippines. The picture comes from the “Witness History Tour,” in which James promoted his latest line of sneakers.

The four-time NBA MVP has received a lot of flak for his hair. While he never shaved it, James had clearly been going bald for the past few years. The nine-time All-Star has worn a head band for several years, which does its best to cover up his receding hairline, and has received the playful scorn from NBA legend and commentator Charles Barkley.

James has embraced the jokes about his hairline. It has become the subject of ridicule, and the NBA’s best player hasn’t been afraid to make fun of himself.

“Had a dream my hairline was back! Woke up and went to the bathroom, turned on light slowly. Same ol story. Damn! Lol #wishfulthinking,” tweeted James in 2011.

James has plenty of time for his hair to grow back for the start of next season. The Heat will open up 2013-2014 against the Chicago Bulls on Oct.29.
