The past two episodes of "The Leftovers" Season 2 have been wild ones for Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux). First, he willingly died on the floor of Virgil's (Steven Williams) cabin, then a "Twin Peaks"-inspired trip to the "other side" to confront Patti (Ann Dowd) led to his shocking resurrection in the woods with Michael Murphy (Jovan Adepo). Fans are on the edge of their seats wondering what will happen next for the troubled Kevin, but viewers may have to wait for any answers. "The Leftovers" is headed back to Mapleton in episode 9, "Ten Thirteen," to check in with the Guilty Remnant and it's new crusader -- Meg Abbott (Liv Tyler).

According to the synopsis for the new episode, Meg embarks on a pilgrimage to further the Guilty Remnant's agenda after suffering a personal loss. The synopsis promises that her journey will reveal more about what led her to change from the frightened new girl at the Guilty Remnant to one of its fiercest leaders. It also reveals that she will have some company on her pilgrimage road trip -- Tom Garvey (Chris Zylka). Tom joins up with Meg after a falling out with Laurie (Amy Brenneman) following their Holy Wayne/hug scheme from episode 3. In episode 7, Laurie told Kevin that the two had fought after their scam started to take an emotional toll on Tom, but viewers don't know what exactly led to him walking out.

Meanwhile, the promo gives some clues as to what Meg is after in the episode. Apparently, she has grown a bit dissatisfied with the impact the Guilty Remnant is having these days.

"We are not stepping up," she tells her fellow cult members. "They are forgetting."

It seems like Meg has an ominous plan to make people remember.

"There are rumors you are planning your own action on October 14," one of her colleagues accuses -- the episode is curiously titled "Ten Thirteen," as in the day before the show's most solemn day of the year.

Meg denies she has any rogue plan, but it sure seems like she has something up her sleeve.

There are only two episodes left in the season. What stunt does Meg have planned for Oct. 14? And what will Kevin do now that he is, well, alive again? Fans will have to wait to find out. "The Leftovers" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on HBO.
