Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Characters
The Legends fight off zombie Confederate soldiers in Season 2, episode 4 of “Legends of Tomorrow.” The CW

In Season 2, episode 4 of “Legends of Tomorrow,” the team responds to a time aberration in 1863 only to find themselves in the middle of Civil War between the Union Army and zombie Confederate soldiers.

In the trailer for the episode, entitled “Abominations,” Nate (Nick Zano) and Sara (Caity Lotz) boldly enter a Union Army camp to inform them that a horde of zombie Confederate soldiers is headed their way. The duo, however, needs to do be more elaborate in delivering the bad news because no one from that time knows what a zombie is.

It’s unclear how the Confederate soldiers turned into members of the undead, but one or more members of Legion of Doom might be responsible for their terrifying transformation.

According to the synopsis for the episode, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) go to a slave plantation together as part of the team’s plan to make sure that the Civil War outcome remains the same.

Meanwhile, Sara begins to feel the burden of the decisions she has to make as the leader, and Ray (Brandon Routh) struggles to find his purpose on the team after his A.T.O.M. exosuit was destroyed in last night’s episode.

In Season 2, episode 3, entitled “Shogun,” Ray was forced to let Nate destroy his suit after it was stolen by Tokugawa Ieyasu (Stephen Oyoung), the Shogun, when the Legends were stranded in feudal Japan.

“I worked for years, spent billions of dollars to develop the A.T.O.M. suit. I nearly died learning to shrink, and now I have to teach you to destroy the very thing, the only thing, that makes me a hero,” Ray told Nate why it’s a hard decision for him to let go of his suit. “We can’t beat the Shogun while he’s wearing the suit, so we have to blow the suit up.”

Although he lost his suit, seeing Nate learn how to control his powers and defeat the Shogun brought smile to Ray’s face. “You steeled on, kinda proud of you,” he told Nate at the end of the episode.

“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 2, episode 4 airs on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
