‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Season 3 cast
“Legends of Tomorrow” executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed first details about Season 3, episode 2. The CW

Filming for “Legends of Tomorrow” Season 3 started on Thursday in Vancouver, Canada. But instead of shooting scenes for Season 3, episode 1, the cast and crew of the CW series were actually filming Season 3, episode 2 yesterday.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed on Twitter that they are not shooting in order. While Guggenheim didn’t give any reason behind the show’s decision to film episode 2 first, he did reveal a handful of details about the second hour of the upcoming installment. According to his tweet, episode 2 is titled “Freakshow” and is directed by Kevin Tancharoen from a script written by Keto Shimizu and Grainne Godfree.

Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance/White Canary on the series, shared a photo and a video from Season 3’s first day of shooting. On Twitter, Lotz posted a photo of Victor Garber (Martin Stein/one-half of Firestorm), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/Atom) and Nick Zano (Nate Heywood/Citizen Steel) taken from the show’s Waverider set.

The actress also shared a video of her and Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave) on Instagram. In the video clip, Lotz is teaching Purcell how Snapchat works. “It’s so stupid and ridiculous,” Purcell says after trying one of the mobile app’s filters.

Routh also took to Instagram to share a photo of him and Zano goofing around.

According to the synopsis for Season 3 released last May, the Legends are going to face off against Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his newly established group of time masters called the Time Bureau. While the Time Bureau also keeps the timeline safe, they don’t approve of the Legends’ methods of policing time. So the Legends are going to challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however disordered their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Time Bureau’s capabilities and can only be fixed by Legends.

More details about the upcoming season are expected to be revealed at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday, July 22. Lotz, Garber, Routh, Purcell, Zano, Franz Drameh (Jax Jackson/one-half of Firestor) and Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Amaya Jiwe/Vixen) will all be present during the panel.

“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 3 will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
