“Lethal Weapon” is introducing a new love interest for Riggs (Clayne Crawford) in Season 1, episode 10, titled “Homebodies.”

According to the synopsis for the episode, Trish (Keesha Sharp) is going to try to set up Riggs with her co-worker. The synopsis doesn’t specify who’s playing Trish’s colleague, but since it lists Lyndon Smith as a guest star in the episode, it won’t be a surprise if she ends up playing Crawford’s new love interest on the FOX series.

In an interview with TVLine last June, Crawford said that he thinks the show will bring in a new girl to Riggs’ life later in the season, but the actor seemingly expects that it’s someone fans always see on the series. “I think at some point they’re going to try to incorporate some kind of love interest [to Riggs’ story]. And it would be crazy if it was Jordana [Brewster],” Crawford said of the actress, who plays Dr. Maureen Cahill on the show.

Trish is well aware of what Riggs has gone through since the death of his wife, Miranda (Floriana Lima), so perhaps she decides to set him up with her co-worker to help him move on from the tragedy. “She understands what he’s going through and, to me, I always say this with Trish: I feel like she bonds with Riggs because she can see losing herself the way he has if she lost her family. There’s something that connects her to him in that way,” Sharp told Screener of Trish’s relationship with Riggs.

Elsewhere in the episode, Riggs and Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) find themselves in a violent turf war between a new generation of drug dealers and a Koreatown gang after investigating the murder of a millennial “designer drug” dealer. Murtaugh also finds some comfort in a temporary new partner.

“Lethal Weapon” Season 1, episode 10 airs on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
