With 3D content appearing on movie screens, televisions, and, most recently, games consoles, LG is ready to make bring 3D to mobile phones.

The company confirmed today that the first glasses-free 3D phone, the LG Optimus 3D would be revealed at the Mobile World Congress later this month.

The Optimus 3D addresses one of the big issues with 3D-equiped gadgets -- the need for 3D glasses. Though Nintendo solved that problem for game consoles with the 3DS, the Optimus 3D is the first smartphone to feature the technology.

The Optimus 3D also allows for 3D video recording via its dual-lens camera, LG revealed. Nintendo is considering similar functionality for the 3DS.

While the bulk of the phone's details have yet to be revealed, most reports speculate the Optimus 3D will feature a dual-core processor and 4-inch screen.
