A new report reveals that Korean television manufacturers have supplanted other manufacturers, taking the number one and two spots in unit-shipment rankings for the second quarter this year.

China's TTE Corp., the market leader in the first quarter of 2006, fell to third place in the unit-shipment rankings in the second quarter, as Korean manufacturers LG Electronics Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., took the first and second place positions, market research firm iSuppy said.

"The shift at the top of the leader board reflects the radical changes throughout the television industry,' said Riddhi Patel, principal analyst for television systems with iSuppli. The firm states that as the television market matures, more and more consumers are switching towards digital-televisions.

According to the research released on Tuesday, TTE's loss was the result of a slowdown of television shipments in its home market in China, where the second quarter is slower due to the end of the Chinese New Year gift-giving season.
