The only thing Avril Lavigne loves more than bashing Hillary Duff is her lead singers and playboys with an affinity for spending their daddy's fortune. While we were shocked to learn of her recent engagement, we weren't too surprised that it was to Chad Kroeger, lead singer of the band "Nickelback."

It's just another case of Avril being Avril. Apparently, "A romantic relationship blossomed as they spent time writing together," sources told People magazine.  After a six-month courtship, Kroeger proposed to the 27-year-old Canadian singer on Aug. 8, with a sizable 14-carat diamond ring. Wowzer.

"He makes her so happy," the family friend continued. "Both of their families could not be more excited."

Take a look at some of the men Avril Lavigne has dated in the past:

Jesse Colburn

The punk-rock singer fell for Jesse Colburn, the former guitarist from her band - the two dated for about a year-and-a-half before calling it quits. He was also the vocalist and guitarist for the band, Closet Monster.

Mitch Allan

The opinionated rocker was in a relationship with Mitch Allan, the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist of punk rock band SR-71. He has written songs for Chris Daughtry, Faith Hill and the Jonas Brothers.

Deryck Whibley

Deryck Whibley is a Canadian musician and producer, best known as the frontman for the Grammy Award-nominated rock band Sum 41. He and the "complicated" singer married in 2006 at a private estate in Montecito, Calif., but uncomplicated things nearly seven years later.

"Deryck and I have been together for 6-an-a-half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21," Lavigne wrote on her website about the end of her marriage. "I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship."

Whibley echoed the same sentiment on his Myspace page: "The past 6 and a half years have been the most amazing years of my life. It's sad it has come to an end but Avril and I are still family and moving forward in the most positive way possible," reads the note. "Our decision to part ways is amicable and she holds a special place in my heart and forever will be a great and amazing friend. Thanks to all our family, friends and fans for all the support."

Brandon Davis

After ending her marriage with Whibley, Avril reportedly shacked up with oil heir and ultimate Hollywood Playboy, Brandon Davis.

"Avril is selling her home where she lived with Deryck, while Brandon still lives in his family's Bel-Air mansion....They both needed a place to live, so they decided to move in together...She and Brandon aren't sure where the romance is headed, but Brandon has never lived with a woman before, so it's a big commitment on his part." A source revealed to Celebuzz.

David has a reputation for starting trouble and bedding many Hollywood socialites, Paris Hilton was one of his conquests.

Justin Murdock

Murdock is the heir to the Dole food company. In 2010, a sexual harassment lawsuit was filed against the billionaire playboy. The New York Post claimed he "sexually harassed a former employee and even threatened her life." Avril had already broken up with the embattled heir at the time.

Doug Robb

Doug Robb was just another lead singer in Avril's dating rolodex. He is the lead singer of the band Hoobastank and is best known for hits like "Crawling in the Dark", "Running Away", and "The Reason."

Brody Jenner

Lavigne dated Brody Jenner, former star of"The Hills" and son of Kardashian patriarch, Bruce Jenner. Their courtship lasted for two years. According to Gossip site TMZ, Jenner was injured in 2011 after attempting to stop a fight between Lavigne and an anonymous woman. He apparently "took a bottle to the head" amid the scuffle. When authorities arrived on the scene, Avril was nowhere to be found - leaving an injured Brody to fend for himself. Jenner was said to have sought medical attention on his own.

Wilmer Valderrama, Fez

Avril had a brief 3 month fling with Valderrama, who has romanced Lindsay Lohan, Ashlee Simpson, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Mila Kunis.
