Liverpool dominated proceedings at Anfield as they secured a convincing 3-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in Saturday's late kick-off.

Manager Kenny Dalglish left Andy Carroll on the bench, playing Luis Suarez up front with Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing on the flanks.

It worked as Liverpool pegged Bolton back with continuous ventures to goal. Downing wasted an early chance and saw Jussi Jaaskelainen later, but Henderson pounced on the rebound to score his first goal for the club.

There were more opportunities as the half went on, but Liverpool failed to convert them. However, Martin Skrtel powered home a header from a corner, in the second half, before Charlie Adam's struck from outside the box to open his Liverpool account. Ivan Klasnic scored in injury time for Bolton, but it was a mere consolation as they were completely outclassed by a continuously improving Liverpool.
