Lorde is releasing a new album three years after she broke into the music industry and dominated charts with her debut record.

The “Royals” singer hinted about the project in a Facebook post she wrote about turning 20. Lorde talked about the challenges she faced after she moved to a different city and what she has learned about the people she met. The singer also said that she “maxed out” on all the emotions she could feel this year. Lorde added that her experiences inspired her upcoming album.

Teasing what’s in store for fans in the future, Lorde said: “I want nothing more than to spill my guts RIGHT NOW about the whole thing — I want you to see the album cover, pore over the lyrics (the best I’ve written in my life), touch the merch, experience the live show.”

The singer added: “I can hardly stop myself from typing out the name. I just need to keep working a while longer to make it as good as it can be. You’ll have to hold on. The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon. I know you understand.”

Lorde first hinted at her new project in July. After a trip to the woods, the singer took to Twitter to tell her fans that she was immensely inspired by the trip and that she made the “most exciting breakthroughs” on her record there.

The “Team” singer made a big change in her career last year when she parted ways with her longtime manager, Scott Maclachlan. While Lorde did not address the separation directly, she appeared to have hinted at it via a couple of tweets. The singer said people should not underestimate her skills. She also said that she may be young, but she’s making good decisions for herself.

Lorde’s first album, “Pure Heroine,” was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
