“Lucifer” season 2 recently cast Michael Imperioli to play the role of Uriel in the hit FOX TV series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Uriel is Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) and Amenadiel’s (D.B. Woodside) brother.

The show’s producers also confirmed the news on Monday via their official Twitter account. Meanwhile, details from “Lucifer” season 2 were also recently released online.

Spoiler TV confirmed that the upcoming episodes will revolve around Lucifer and Amenadiel searching for their mother Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) who recently escaped from Hell. Lucifer is not exactly pleased with the idea that Charlotte is just somewhere in Los Angeles because they have more differences than similarities. In fact, the lead character takes after his dad so he doesn’t necessarily get along well with his mom.

Other than his search for Charlotte, Lucifer will also come face-to-face with a new character named Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia). The latter is a forensic scientist who is described as a tough woman. She believes in both science and faith which makes her interesting for Lucifer.

In other news, Lucifer and Ella’s friendship will upend the former’s connection with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and his friend Chloe Decker (Lauren German). Lucifer and Chloe developed a close bond in season 1 when they started solving crimes together. However, their dynamic became even more interesting when Lucifer discovered that Chloe is making him vulnerable.

While all of these things are happening, Lucifer will continue to reach out to his therapist Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris). She will give Lucifer sensible advices on how to deal with his personal life and the connections he has built with his family and friends.

In the end, it’s possible that Dr. Martin will need her own therapist from dealing too much with all of Lucifer’s issues.

“Lucifer” season 2 will premiere on FOX on Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
