According to Windows Central, unlike initial speculations, both the models will not be sporting metal bodies. Instead, they are expected to come with a polycarbonate chassis. Both the devices will be roughly 7mm to 8mm thick. The power key will separate the volume up and down buttons, and there will be a dedicated camera button.

Lumia 950 And Lumia 950 XL Full Specifications

The Microsoft Lumia 950 will be fitted with Quad HD resolution (1440 x 2560 pixels) supporting a 5.2-inch display, a Snapdragon 808 chip, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL will come with a larger 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 810 SoC and a massive 3,300 mAh battery.

The Lumia 950 as well as 950 XL will support native storage of 32GB, microSD slot, and PureView technology-powered 20MP rear camera and 5MP selfie camera. The rear shooter of Lumia 950 XL will be equipped with triple LED flash. Both handsets will also support Qi wireless charging and a USB Type-C connector.

Continuum Iris Scanner, Surface Pen And Smart Cover

The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are expected to come with unmatched features. The Microsoft Continuum feature will allow owners of Lumia 950 and 950 XL to use the handsets like a PC by connecting to a docking station that will come with support for display ports, mouse and keyboard.

The iris scanner coupled with Windows Hello, a feature of Windows 10 Mobile, will let users unlock their Lumia 950 or 950 XL handsets in less than 1 second. The Lumia 950 XL will come with an optional surface pen stylus. Both the handsets will support an optional smart cover accessory that will contain a round cutout for viewing calls and notifications. The surface pen can be attached to the smart cover.

The Lumia 950 and 950 XL models are expected to be unveiled on Sept. 4, 2015, at the IFA event. Both the devices will be available for purchase by October or November.
