EBay has cut the price of the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro 2015 with Retina display by a whopping $570 for a limited period of time, pointing to the imminent arrival of the 2016 variant.

Apple has been delaying the release of MacBook Pro 2016 due to reasons unknown to public. However, it is being rumored that the tech giant might be planning to get rid of the headphone jack from the notebook altogether, much like what we hear would be the case for the upcoming iPhone 7 series.

In a post titled “Headphone Jacks Are the New Floppy Drives,” John Gruber argues “Will MacBooks ship with a Lightning port in lieu of a headphone jack? If so, will they ship with headphones?” According to him, the answer is “probably not.” Instead, the tech giant might ask device users to shell out an additional $29 for Apple EarPods.

He further opined that perhaps the delay in the release of MacBook Pro 2016 could be because Apple might be waiting for the iPhone 7 to gear up for release, so that both the devices can go “Lightning-for-audio at the same time.”

Moving on to the latest discount deal, the 15.4-inch Retina MacBook Pro 2015 with 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage can now be purchased for $1,929.99 on eBay. Apple’s official store, on the other hand, has listed the same device for $2,499.

Upon purchasing the notebook, eBay will offer free shipping service. The seller “Always Deals” managed to amass 98.7 percent positive rating on eBay. So far, 422 units of this discounted notebook have been sold. The MPN number associated with this model is “MJLT2LL/A.”

Moving on to key specifications, the 15.4-inch LED-backlit IPS Retina display comes bundled with 2,880 x 1,800 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by an Intel Core i7 SoC, running at 2.5 GHz.

Speaking of software, Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite runs the MacBook Pro 2015 out of the box. This model supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, HDMI and Thunderbolt 2 ports. Furthermore, the housed battery unit can reportedly offer up to 9 hours of battery life.
