Madonna may be one of the biggest pop stars in the world, but that doesn't mean the Give Me All Your Luvin singer is immune to disappointing album numbers.

After Madonna's newest album, MDNA, debuted atop the Billboard 200 charts with 359,000 units sold, the second week sales plunged by 88 percent to an estimated 46,000 copies. That gives Madonna the honor of having the highest drop in album sales for a second week in history.

According to Forbes, the reason for the drop is because for the first week Madonna and her label allowed fans to purchase concert tickets with the album, but once the concert tickets sold out, the album sales dropped.

Madonna also did not do a lot of promotion for the album. The Get Into the Groove singer sat down with Jimmy Kimmel for an interview that streamed live on Facebook, but did not make any of the usual media rounds.
