Matt Bomer has been married to publicist Simon Halls since 2011, and it seems that their marital union will only get stronger as time goes by because the actor has his grandparents’ relationship as a model for a long-lasting marriage.

People caught up with Bomer on Friday night, Aug. 19, at the onePULSE Foundation benefit in support of the tragic nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla., and the outlet asked him how he keeps his marriage with Halls intact.

“Well, we have three kids (Kit, Walker and Henry) right now, so you've got to fit the romance in when you can,” said the 38-year-old actor. “I sort of take cues from my grandparents … [who] just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.”

“I always look to them,” he added. “I see how every day they express their love for each other and I try to follow. They've set a pretty good model for me to follow.”

The “White Collar” alum, who came out in 2012, revealed to Details in May 2014 that he and longtime partner Halls privately exchanged “I dos” back in 2011.

“It was very chill. Very small — only our nearest and dearest," Bomer said of their nuptials in the June/July 2014 double issue of OUT magazine. “There's a security, a validity of knowing that it's legal. It's hard to put into words. It's just a feeling I guess — something about saying vows in front of the people around you who love and support you. I think it was good for our family.”

Bomer will be next seen in the western action film “The Magnificent Seven.” The Antoine Fuqua-directed movie, which also stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Lee Byung-hun, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeier, Peter Sarsgaard and Haley Bennett, opens in theaters on Sept. 23.
