Manchester United have confirmed the acquisition of young PSV Eindhoven midfielder Andreas Pereira and said that the player will sign a three-and-a-half year contract with the Red Devils on the first day of the new year once he turns 16.

The starlet, who is considered to be a promising talent in the modern form of game, was previously monitored by English heavy weights Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. The player, however, decided to join Manchester United.

Pereira, who is a Belgium international of Brazilian descent, started his career at KVSK Lommel in Belgium before he moved on with PSV, and will now join United's U19 side when he arrives in England.

The youngster is known for setting up his team mates, linking well and scoring, according to a Caughtoffside report.
