With the January transfer window close at hand, both Manchester United and Chelsea are rumored to be interested in Valencia's versatile left footed Jordi Alba who has been made available by the club.

Both United and Chelsea are looking to land the 22-year-old to replace the ageing Patrice Evra and Ashley Cole respectively, and Alba has been tagged as the best option available at the moment. Numerous clubs had also made enquiries about the player's availability following his impressive show at the Champions League.

It is widely believed that a fee of £9 million will be enough to lure the player to the Premier League when the season ends as a January transfer is highly unlikely, according to a Footybunker.com report.

Alba, mainly a left defender but also operating as a left midfielder for Valencia, has made 72 appearances for the club and has also managed to score four times.
