Rumors are rife that English heavyweights Manchester United could lose Ezekiel Fryers, one of their prized youngsters, once the transfer window opens in the summer at the end of the current season. Among the suitors, Premier League rivals Tottenham have emerged as favorites to land the talented defender.

Currently, Fryers, 19, is stalling the possibility of a new contract at Old Trafford and could easily leave in the summer for nothing when his contract expires at the end of the season. This has alerted a number of clubs with a possibility to acquire his services if he fails to sign a new contract.

The player is one of England's future prospects and is regarded highly in the Premier League, and United are more than reluctant to lose the youngster for free. The Spurs have been known to be a long time admirer of the player and will take the situation seriously if the player is hesitant about a new contract.

Spurs could get a hold of the player for a small fee if he sees out his contract this summer, according to a Sky Sports report.

Fryers is known for his ability to play in the left back position as easily as he plays in the center back position. He has already made 10 England U19 appearances and has just made a total of six appearances for United in all competitions.
