Manchester United Vs Norwich City, Saturday 1 October, 1400 GMT

Norwich City will face a Manchester United side who'll look to put in a performance, given their midweek defensive horror show.

On Tuesday, FC Basel visited Old Trafford with meager expectations. Things looked right when Man United went up two goals within 20 minutes courtesy of Danny Welbeck. However, Basel proceeded to score three in return, and it required an injury time header from Ashley Young to grab a point for the English champions. That followed last week's 1-1 draw at Stoke and some quarters have raised concerns about Man United's defence.

With Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic injured, Phil Jones has had to fill in at centre-back and although he has put in good performances, questions have been raised over his positioning and awareness in defence. Norwich will look to capitalize on any such uncertainty although that could leave them open for a battering.

Overall, expect United to get a comfortable win here.

Team News

Manchester United will welcome back Wayne Rooney after he recovered from a hamstring injury, along with Javier Hernandez and Jonny Evans both of whom have also sufficiently gotten over their injuries. However, Nemanja Vidic, Chris Smalling and Tom Cleverley are still injured.

Norwich will be without striker James Vaughan who has had a knee surgery. Zak Whitbread, Elliott Ward and Dani Ayala are also sidelined while Ritchie de Laet is on-loan from Manchester United and is ineligible to play against his parent club.

Prediction - Manchester United 2-0 Norwich City
