Manhattan Theatre Club announced the plays for its 2011-2012 new season.

Tony Award and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce will star in Molly Smith Metzler's new comedy, Close Up Space, an Off Broadway production directed by Leigh Silverman. David Hyde Pierce will play an obsessive book editor, Paul Barrow, tormented by his assistant and his daughter. Previews will begin on December 1, followed by the opening on December 19, 2011.

We Live Here, a new play by Zoe Kazan, will mark her New York debut as a playwright, after numerous Broadway productions she joined as an actress. It chronicles a woman who, on the eve of her wedding, is reconnected with her younger sister and her boyfriend. We Live Here will begin previews on September 22 and opens on October 12, 2011.

The Columnist, a world premier Broadway production by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner David Auburn, will begin previews on January 4, and opens on January 26, 2012. No casting or director was announced so far.
