Mariah Carey has officially announced the release date of her 13th studio album.

The former "American Idol" judge confirmed the July 23 release date through a twitter message to her followers -- obviously her new go-to outlet to share breaking news about herself.

"The New Era Begins.. 7/23 #MC723," the singer tweeted.

This will be her first studio album in four years. Her last album was 2009's "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel."

No word on the name of the album or any collaborations that will be featured on the project, reports Billboard. But if her first single, "Beautiful," featuring Miguel is any indication, the album is destined to be another success for the 47-year-old star. The song currently sits at the No. 17 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The album will house production work from The Dream, Bryan-Michael Cox and "We Belong Together" creator Jermaine Dupri.

Carey most recently announced that she would be leaving "American Idol" after only one season on the show as well as plans for a world tour that will begin in October.

She will perform this July 4, on NBC's "Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Special."

"Beautiful" became Carey's 27th Top 10 hit on the R&B/Hip Songs chart. She now holds the fourth most Top 10 songs of all-time for a female artist.
