Mario Testino's recent controversy has affected his chances of becoming Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's official photographer for their royal wedding.

Testino has been ruled out for the gig following the accusations that he sexually exploited models and assistants. According to The Telegraph, Testino had been the "front-runner" to take the portraits for the next royal wedding before the scandal.

"There is no doubt Testino was the front runner to do Harry and Meghan’s wedding. They didn't use him for their engagement photos but by then rumours were already circulating about Mario. He won't be used now," a fashion industry insider told the publication.

Kensington Palace has declined to comment about the official photographer for Markle and Prince Harry's wedding. "It is not something we are commenting on at this stage," the spokesperson said. "We have not provided any further details on who will be photographing the wedding."

Testino has a rich portfolio when it comes to working with the royals. He took the last official portraits of Princess Diana before her death in 1997. In addition, Prince William and Middleton chose him for their engagement photoshoot in 2010. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also hired him for Princess Charlotte's christening photos in 2015.

In related news, Testino, along with Bruce Weber, have been contributors of Vogue and Condé Nast for many years. Vogue's editor-in-chief and Condé Nast artistic director Anna Wintour made a statement about the two in light of the sexual misconduct allegations plaguing them.

According to Wintour, Testino and Weber are her personal friends. However, she is taking the allegations seriously, so she decided to "put our working relationship with both photographers on hold for the foreseeable future."

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle will be tying the knot on May 19 at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. According to an insider, the upcoming wedding will have a "white and classic" theme.

"Miss Markle has described it as reflecting a fairytale wedding, which, of course, is really what it is," a palace insider said. "Staff have been struck by how unbelievably happy they are together. They are having huge fun planning this. No one has ever seen Prince Harry quite like it."
