The Dallas Mavericks are leading the Miami Heat 53-51 at halftime in Game 6 of the NBA Finals in Miami. The game has been a rollercoaster ride of a half with wild swings and extended scoring runs by both teams.

The Heat jumped out to a 20-11 lead in the first quarter only to see a long run by the Mavericks to take a 32-27 halftime lead. The Heat took the lead back with a 14 point run in the second quarter, only to see the Mavericks play good defense, keep the game close, and take the halftime lead.

Miami forward Lebron James has been on and off making his first 4 shots, but only going 1 for his next 5 and missing 2 free throws. Dwyane Wade has only 9 points on 3 of 8 shooting, but has 6 rebounds.

Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki had a nightmare first half going only 1 for 12 from the field. However, Dallas is leading the game primarily due to the play of Jason Terry, who scored 19 points off the bench including three 3-pointers. DeShawn Stevenson also came off the bench and is 3 for 4 from the 3 point line.

A skirmish occurred in the second quarter with Stevenson and Miami's Mario Chalmers, and Udonis Haslem all receiving technical fouls.

The Mavericks lead the series 3-2 and could win the championship with a win.
