Meghan Markle is predicted to be a modern-day Princess Diana after she paid homage to her late mother-in-law during her final engagement with the royal family.

While at the Commonwealth Day Service, Markle wore a green ensemble that resembled one of Princess Diana’s outfits while she was pregnant with Prince William. E! News host Carissa Culiner claimed that Markle’s decision to wear a green dress was a calculated move on her part.

“She did that. I cannot believe that. That is insane. That is a calculated move. This is a royal mic drop,” she said.

E! News presenter Justin Sylvester replied by saying that paying homage to somebody like that, considering that Markle and Princess Diana are both outsiders to the royal family, was quite telling.

“They both decided to rebel, they both decided to forge a path for themselves and Diana was one of the most independent women that we have seen in history. Went against the grain, did the damn thing. I think Meghan Markle is almost like she was paying homage to Diana because she feels the same way,” he said.

Sylvester went on to say that Markle is well aware of the fact that people talked about Princess Diana after she divorced Prince Charles and left the monarchy. Even if this was the case, it was common knowledge that royal fans loved Princess Diana even when she was no longer an official member of the royal family.

Prince Harry’s wife reportedly wants the same thing for herself. And she wants to get the vibe that she’s the modern-day Diana. It might have been a stretch months ago, but today it seems that everything is improving.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their bombshell exit in January. On March 31, the royal couple will no longer be considered as senior working royals. This means that Markle was only an official member of the British clan for 10 months.
