Meghan Markle has likely done her fair share of preparations to join the British royal family as Prince Harry’s wife, but going through “royal boot camp” was not one of these.

Star magazine recently published a story claiming that Queen Elizabeth II ordered her grandson’s fiancée to undergo strict royal training in which she was “slapped with a bizarre list of do’s and don’t’s ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry.” The article alleged that the reigning monarch had “Kensington Palace minions hand-deliver” a “mile-long list of royal rules” that Markle had to follow so she could tie the knot with Prince Harry in May.

The tabloid’s story also claimed that the queen did not approve of Markle’s outfit in her engagement photos with Prince Harry and told her she needed “royal class.” Among the claims was that Markle’s soon-to-be sister-in-law Kate Middleton reportedly told the “Suits” actress that she needs to “stop rebelling” so she could have a smoother transition into the palace.

“Though Meghan understands she must have a different public persona now, she was shocked at some of the restrictions. They just seem too antiquated and ridiculous,” Star’s palace insider claimed. “She’s told friends she finds the rules hilarious, but right now no one in the royal family is laughing.”

However, Gossip Cop debunked the tabloid’s claims, saying there is no truth to the report that Queen Elizabeth II gave Markle an ultimatum and that she disapproved of her choice of ensemble.

The site pointed out that the queen would not have allowed the palace to release Prince Harry and Markle’s engagements photos had she been “appalled” by the actress’ outfit. Gossip Cop also noted that Markle would have known before getting engaged with Prince Harry that she would have to follow royal protocol when they get married, so she is unlikely to “rebel” so close to their wedding. In addition, while Markle is getting royal etiquette lessons like Middleton did before she wed Prince William in 2011, the actress did not at any point receive a “mile-long list of royal rules.”

Meanwhile, another rumor that was recently debunked is the claim that Markle and Prince Harry and the newly engaged Princess Eugenie and her fiancé Jack Brooksbank are competing with each other. Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank announced their engagement earlier this week, and this reportedly resulted to the two couples trying to one-up each other.

However, according to People, cousins Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry are fully supportive of each other’s relationships and are more focused on their respective royal weddings. A friend of Princess Eugenie told the publication that there is “zero competition” between the two couples.

“It is complete love, and there is room for all of them,” the source said.
