Meghan Markle’s boyfriend, Prince Harry, is personally mentoring her on everything royal.

According to The New York Post, there’s no school where Markle could enroll and learn all the things that royalties can and cannot do. So before she and Prince Harry announce their engagement, he is first helping her adjust to her new fame and lifestyle.

British writer Katie Nicholl told The Post that Prince Harry understands how difficult it must be for the “Suits” actress to live up to all of the expectations planted on royalties. “He knows how daunting this will be for Meghan and he’s keen for her to be relaxed in the company of senior royals,” she said.

In recent weeks, Prince Harry also arranged for Markle to meet with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Prior to their meeting, Nicholl said that Prince Harry must have told Markle how to act around the royalty.

“Harry will have made sure Meghan knew how to address the queen and how to behave in her presence. He calls her ‘Granny,’ but after Meghan had curtsied and called her ‘Your Majesty,’ she would have reverted to ‘ma’am. It seems strange to mere mortals, but it is how Princess Kate addresses her,” she explained.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine also said that Markle would have to adjust to an entirely different culture compared to what she was accustomed to growing up. One that is not allowed among royals includes chewing gum in public. If Markle indeed marries Prince Harry, she also needs to know the difference between American and British manners.

Meanwhile, one major concern surrounding the couple has to do with Markle’s status as a divorcee. According to Seward, Markle will be the American divorcee to marry someone who is in line to the throne, that is, if the wedding will really happen.

The actress, who plays the role of Rachel Zane in the hit USA Network series, was previously married to Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2013. Prior to their marriage, the estranged couple dated for seven years. An insider told the Daily Mail that they split due to the distance between them.
