Meghan Markle’s sister, Samantha Markle-Grant, denied reports that the actress’ mom, Doria Ragland, will walk her down the aisle.

Before setting her Twitter account on private, Samantha said that their dad, Thomas Markle, will be the one to send her half-sister off on her wedding day.

“Here ye, Here Year! Muck about Doria walking Meg down the aisle is NOT true. Our father will walk her down the aisle… don’t believe tabloids. Most tabloid writers are developmentally delayed,” she wrote.

Us Weekly recently claimed that Markle wants her mom to have a special part in her wedding to Prince Harry on May 19. A source told the publication that Markle wants to be able to decide what she wants to do on her special day.

“With the wedding, they both want to do things their way. While they will always be mindful of traditions and the views of their elders, the day is ultimately about them and what they want to do,” the source said.

Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding will also feature some unconventional surprises. “Don’t expect a royal wedding by numbers. They want to involve their friends and family as much as possible throughout the day,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Tonight previous reported that Markle already asked her dad to walk her down the aisle. “Meghan asked her father to walk her down the aisle. She does want him included and she wants to uphold tradition,” a source said.

And even though Ragland won’t walk daughter down the aisle at her wedding, she will still play a significant role that day.

Markle has a close relationship with Ragland. Earlier this year, she gushed about her mom during an interview with Glamour. “We can just have so much fun together, and yet, I’ll still find so much solace in her support. That duality coexists the same way it would in a best friend,” she said.
