Former Hollywood couple Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas are now officially separated, after their 2014 divorce filing has recently been finalized.
The Hollywood divorce between the two stars marked another expensive financial agreement, with Banderas and Griffith sharing most of their assets. Court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight showed that the income they both received from movie projects between 2004 and 2014 will be divided equally amongst the former couple. For Banderas, this includes income from movies such as Shrek 2, Puss in Boots, Expendables 3 and many more.
Film projects that Banderas completed prior to 2004, will not be included in the 50/50 earning split. This is due to a post-nuptial agreement that was previously filed between the two stars, explained Entertainment Tonight.
Apart from the 50/50 share in movie projects, Griffith will be receiving a monthly spousal support of $65,000 from Banderas. The actress will also keep the land title for their Colorado home, according to court documents.
The divorce agreement also indicated that Banderas and Griffith will split up various artworks that they have collected during their marriage, which is said to include several Picasso pieces. The former Hollywood couple have also already sold their Los Angeles home and split the profits from the home sale.
Banderas and Griffith announced their divorce in June 2014 where they explained in a joint statement that they have "thoughtfully and consensually" decided to end their marriage "“in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together." However, the two remained friends and even celebrated an important milestone in their daughter’s life in June this year.
The former couple attended their daughter Stella’s high school graduation together and even posed for several family pictures, E!News reported. Griffith even uploaded a picture of the three of them together on Instagram. She captioned the image, "Our angel is amazing. Beginning the next chapter of her life! Freedom!!"
Banderas and Griffith were married for 18 years before the two announced their separation in June 2014.
