Opening its doors to art connoisseurs and prominent collectors from across the world, the Miami Beach Convention Center is hosting the prestigious Art Basel Miami Beach exhibition from December 2 to December 5, 2010.

A sister-event of the annual Art Basel in Switzerland, the Art Basel Miami Beach has emerged as one of the most recognized international art shows in the U.S since its inception in the year 2002.

The organizers of the event, UBS, has a longstanding relationship with Art Basel, serving as main sponsor for 17 years and is now main sponsor of Art Basel Miami Beach for the ninth consecutive year.

Highlight of this year's exhibition is an exclusive nightly program at the Oceanfront organized by Creative Time and designed by Phu Hoang Office and Rachely Rotem Studio.

The 2010 Oceanfront Nights program features four cities at the forefront of today's artistic experimentation and cross-disciplinary collaboration: Detroit, Mexico City, Berlin, and Glasgow. To organize the program, Art Basel Miami Beach and Creative Time has invited four organizations, namely the Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit, Museo Tamayo in Mexico City, 032c in Berlin, and Tramway in Glasgow.

Over 40,000 visitors are expected to visit the 250 galleries arranged in the exhibition area. Apart from masterpieces by renowned names, the event will also feature artworks by a number of young artists.
