Michael Phelps and his fiancée Nicole Johnson have been reportedly married for months, even when the legendary swimmer was competing at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro this summer. According to marriage records, the couple got married on June 13 in Maricopa County, Arizona.

The marriage license was issued on June 9, 2016, and the wedding was officiated by Michael's agent and longtime friend Peter Carlisle. TMZ first reported about the secret marriage, which was later confirmed by E! News. However, the couple has never publicly acknowledged their marriage.

On their wedding day, Johnson posted a photo with Phelps and their son Boomer on Instagram and captioned it: "Such a memorable night with my lil fambam."

The couple met in Los Angeles in 2007 and went into an on-again, off-again relationship. They got engaged in February and became parents to their first child on May 5.

In August, Johnson spoke out about her wedding plans to Access Hollywood, saying: "We have a date. It’ll be small and intimate for the wedding, and then we’re throwing a massive bash for everyone in the States. We’re kind of getting things rolling. I’ve been planning as we’ve been leading up to this. I think I have the wedding in order and now it’s on to the party for the fun!”

Two weeks ago, Johnson posted a photo on Instagram of several models wearing wedding dresses, with the caption, “Eenie meenie miney mo,” hinting that she was trying to pick a wedding dress.

Last week, Phelps denied his marriage when questioned by his fans on Facebook Live.

"You guys can think what you want. This is my right hand," Phelps said, despite raising what appeared to be his left hand with a black ring on his ring finger.
