Pricing for Microsoft’s flagship devices scheduled for 2015, the Lumia 940 and its jumbo sibling Lumia 940 XL, reportedly has been leaked. In addition, here is a summary of all the reported configurations revealed so far.

According to the dedicated Windows site WMPowerUser, which apparently picked up key information from a Dutch source, the Microsoft Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL will use polycarbonate materials for the exterior. But that does not guarantee an affordable price tag. Instead, the upcoming Lumia 940 series of devices apparently will cost more than the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple iPhone 6.

The Apple iPhone 6 costs $699 for the base model. Meanwhile, the base model of the Samsung Galaxy S6 can be purchased for $599. In addition, readers should also note both Samsung’s and Apple’s flagship devices come with metal-clad exteriors, commanding the premium price tag. In general, Phone Arena says, most of the high-end devices being released are being made of metal or at least, a metal frame runs through the sides of the device. But then, according to the recent reports, the Lumia 940 along with the bigger sibling will maintain the look of earlier devices in the line and be priced higher.

WMPowerUser says the Lumia 940 reportedly will feature a 5.2-inch full HD display, packed with 1,920 x 1,080-pixel screen resolution. Under the hood, the handset will apparently be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and will be backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM.

When it comes to memory specification, the Lumia 940 is believed to come equipped with 32 GB of built-in storage and microSD card support for expansion. Furthermore, the smartphone will flaunt a 20 megapixel rear-facing sensor with triple LED flash and a 5 MP front-facing snapper for selfies. To top it off, the device will also house an iris scanner.

The Lumia 940 XL apparently will one up its smaller sibling by flaunting a 5.7-inch display with a phenomenal Quad HD screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Under the hood, the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. Apart from these differences, rest of the configurations are same as the Lumia 940.

Release of both devices is expected to be in November. Nonetheless, readers should note that, Microsoft has not confirmed the Lumia 940 XL or Lumia 940 release date, specifications or price details thus far.
