Microsoft is running a promotional deal where interested buyers can trade in a Nokia Lumia 920, Lumia 925 or a Lumia 1020, and avail a $150 discount on the latest Lumia 950 or bigger sibling Lumia 950 XL. It is worth noting that Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL run Windows 10 Mobile OS straight out of the box.

Buyers with any one of the three devices mentioned above can visit Microsoft's online store and click the “Trade-in online” button. The new page will ask the customer to choose the old device name, which will be traded in to avail Lumia 950 series. This is followed by a question inquiring about the working condition of the device.

The $150 trade-in credit is applicable only for handsets that work properly. To be specific, all keys must function as expected, the handset should be able to power on, the battery should hold charge, the display should not be cracked, the warranty seal should be intact and lastly, the device should have no liquid damage signs.

Following which, customers have to answer if the charger will be part of the trade in. Phone Arena says even if there is no charger available, the $150 discount applies.

Lastly, the IMEI number of the handset should be mentioned in the same page. In case a physical Microsoft Store is nearby, buyers can walk in and use the trade in option directly.

Microsoft online store will send out the redemption code for those opting for the trade in deal, after CExchange receives the old handset and evaluates the working condition. Upon receiving the code, customers can redeem it until July 30, 2016.
