In a recent article in Marie Claire magazine, Miley Cyrus admits it was a mistake to smoke salvia -- an undetectable natural herb -- out of a bong.

Cyrus, who graces the cover of the new issue of the magazine, admits she has not been the best role model for her fans.

I'm not perfect ... I made a mistake ... I'm disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans, she said.

Two months ago, a video surfaced of the 18-year-old singer and actress smoking from a bong. In the clip, Cyrus is seen giggling and talking to an unidentified woman. The bong was allegedly filled with salvia, a psychoactive herb that is legal in California. The video was reportedly shot in Cyrus' L.A. home days after she turned 18.

In the video Cyrus is heard saying having a little bit of a bad trip and laughing uncontrollably.

When asked by Marie Claire about her behavior, Cyrus responded, But they're not Miley Cyrus. They're not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for.

Cyrus' career has seen many changes as she recently bid farewell to her small-screen alter ego Hannah Montana and is not preparing for the release of several movies. She said that in 2011 she wants to spread the love and change the world.
